So, all those planning to Amanda's housewarming this weekend that also have a DS, please bring DS along to said party. Kelly and I were thinking of having a mass Tetrising at some point. Thank you!

I have been thinking alot about how we see ourselves VS how others see us. Obviously it's impossible to be entirely objective about yourself, and everyone else's perception of you is going to be so different. But why can there be such a gap between the two? And would you want to see yourself as others see you? I'm also trying to understand why for so many people it's easier to accept the negative feedback than positive. That it almost seems easier to dismiss or disregard a compliment but take criticism.

Is this only a product of low self esteem or something else? I had more to ad but I've completely forgotten it.

No, you cannots eat! Mwahahaha.

After I went to the choco choc fest with Sarah, Charmaine and Amanda I went to the city for a bit. I was waiting for a tram home about 3:30pm and some complete stranger came up to me and asked me out on a date. WTF, that's the second time something like that has happened to me. I think it went a bit like this

I feel like Lisa Simpson after she has found out that she has the Simpson gene. That is, a trait in her family that makes people less intelligent as they get older.
Yes, at times I do feel like I am getting teh stupider as I get older. I'm trying to understand why this is... Whatever the reason, it's causing me to be a bit frustrated at times.
Fuck my brain.

For that price you'd be better off paying someone to ice you every five minutes .

Some times I wonder about people in my life... Like many of us I assume, they are people you spend time with on a regular basis and you assume you know them to at least a certain degree. Over time you see them less and less til you may only see them every six months, if even that. You realise that this person you hardly ever see is someone you barely even know. Who they are and why they do the things they do are no longer apparent to you. Neither of you are much of a priority in each others lives any more.

The thing is, is this a result of you both changing? Or is it perhaps that maybe you never knew that will in the first place? These things make me kind of sad but I suppose are inevitable.

On a slightly related note, why do some people continue to put up obstacles regardless of how much time is spent with them? Is this due to some kind of fear of their behalf? It must be exhausting to keep your guard up at all times.

So many questions! Hopefully someone will answer them :P

I should really get a flash for this time of year. The photos only seem to work out on really sunny days.

Man, I never post on this thing! Probably due to have Facespace and Twitter it seems easier to post short pithy things than a whole long entry. What's been going on with me? Not much really. I've seen a few things at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival.

Acts I have seen include

Mark Watson's preview show. Pretty good but I felt it was rushed towards the end. But overall I enjoyed myself.

Josie Long. I saw one of her shows two years and really liked her act. However I'm not sure if it was because I was feeling toward or what not at the end of the day but I wasn't paying complete attention and enjoyed the show I saw two years ago.

Time Ninja's with Lawrence Leung and Andrew McClelland. Really freaking awesome. I've seen shows seperately of both these people and thought they were really good but together they were even better! More of a theatre perfromance than a series of jokes.

Sammy J - 1999. I saw this last night with Julian. Again, more a comedic theatre type thingy than a series of jokes. Was also really good, but so much cringing. Was also quite moving in parts. Although I must say it take a brave man to get in front of a large audience in a Speedo. So very very white.

Argh, my foot has gone to sleep. I really need to stop sitting cross legged on chairs :\

Last night I watched the most amazing TV show called “Can’t Read, Can’t Write”. It’s a British series that focuses on a group of adults, who despite having ten or more years of education, are unable to read or write. Some of them not just poorly, but at all. They were then given lessons to overcome their illiteracy. It amazed me how quickly (and I am talking with in weeks) some of the students were able to form sentences. Clearly for many their illiteracy has caused them blows to their confidence over the years and would have taken them a lot of courage to even start lessons in the first place.

I guess that in the past that the idea people can have different styles of learning was not even considered, hence so many people slipping through the gaps.

What makes me wonder though is how difficult every day life must have been for them. I mean, trying to read and fill out forms, going to a restaurant, even looking up a train timetable, these things would have been a virtual impossibility. These really are every day things we take for granted.

On another note it took me a very long time to get to sleep last so I am rather tired at the moment. No napping as it will probably make things even worse!

So I finally got my roll of film from the Holga 135 BC. The Holga 135 BC is a plastic 35mm camera that according to Wiki "plastic lens and the same lens mount of the holgas 120 but with 45mm lens. "BC" means "Black Corner, the 135BC model has a built in transparent mask which create a vignetting effect". You can read more about Holgas here if you want.

Anyway, since it was my first roll there were a few problems. One, the camera only really works in strong natural light (even when combined with a 400 speed film), two you can't actually focus with this camera, three I uummm actually had the camera on the wrong setting for a few of the pictures. So I guess I'm going to have to practice and probably buy a flash for it.

That said, here a few pictures that didn't turn out completely horrible

So after what seems like an eternity my She Space order finally arrived. I ordered seven full sized eyeshadows, a black pigment primer and a large number of samples. One of the samples I ordered seems to be missing, as does a full sized eyeshadow.

The black pigment primer in a pot and as a result I am not sure how to apply without making a mess. I'm thinking cotton buds may have to do. I also bought another primer which is a light skin coloured from Two Faced, called Shadow Insurance. This doesn't obviously change the colour of your eyeshadow, but using it on eyeshadows I already own, it really does hold things in place.

I haven't used to black pigment primer of my eyes yet but here is a demonstration on what it does to the full sized She Space eyeshadows I ordered

It doesn't seem to do much for really light colours like Rockin Egyptian but makes the green and purples a lot brighter

Here are some of the samples I ordered

About 7 of the 16 I ordered are green or greenish. No more greens for me next time I think :P

Yesterday I went to Paige's birthday picnic thingy. I had a lovely time but unfortunately around about 5ish the wind started picking up and my hayfever went into overdrive. I couldn't stay much longer as my eyes started getting really sore and itchy. Blergh.

But more importantly, I made boob cupcakes

On a different note yesterday I filed my tax returns on about 4 hours sleep. Hopefully I did everything correctly and more importantly get some monies back. Heh. Also, a long time ago I signed up for this real time research thing. I'm not sure what I agreed to do but apparently next week I'm being paid to eat food in Essendon. Much worse things I could be paid for I guess.

I also haven't had any hayfever so far this year! It's because I'm really lucky/awesome or I started my Rhinocourt early this year.
